Since our beginnings in the mid-1980s, the team behind Ralco Europa has embraced technological advancements to continually improve the service we provide to our customers. Back then, the essential tools included bulky mobile phones, low-precision fax machines, and computers with limited color capabilities.
Soon after the development of the Internet, we registered our first .com domain in 1997, allowing us to have our first website and to use corporate emails, which greatly enhanced our international exposure. We soon expanded our website in 1999 to allow our customers to purchase online, and we have been continuously improving it since then.
In the early 2020s there was the boon of generative AI chatbots like ChatGPT, but it was in 2024 when small but powerful open-source large language models (LLM) appeared. Such models can be run securely in our premises, minimizing safety concerns when dealing with our and our clients data, allowing small companies like us to experiment with AI chatbots.
What can AI do for us other than interesting compressor images? Our initial objective for Ralkin is to provide the same information that is currently available in our website, but in a natural language way, e.g. by asking direct questions. This allows us to target new communication tools, like messaging apps. Because the information available on our website is clearly differentiated for potential customers and for clients with access to the Client Area, we have developed therefore two AI chatbots with different capabilities.
The public Ralkin can provide general information about Ralco Europa, about our spare parts, and about spare parts suitable to different compressor models. It cannot provide information about prices and stocks, and obviously neither about sales nor accounting information. On the other hand, the AI chatbot for our clients will have these additional capabilities.
We are very excited about these new technological developments, and we sincerely expect that they will help our customers in the years to come.
Can you guess which screw compressor is this? ... SNOON?
We deliver aftermarket spare parts anywhere in the world, now even to space!
One of the advantages of Ralkin compared to our traditional customer service or even our website is that it can provide information in many languages. Although at Ralco we do not have the resources to run locally (for security reasons) a ChatGPT or Deepseek type of model, we can still use smaller open-source LLM that are becoming increasingly good at understanding and generating text in multiple languages.
To change Ralkin to a different language, we use a Telegram-style command system, type "/lang" followed by the language in English.
Ralkin should perform best in English (e.g. "/lang ENGLISH") and
Spanish
("/lang SPANISH"), in terms of accuracy and speed (typically 5-20 s,
depending on the complexity of the question and the length of the output).
Other curated languages are French
("/lang FRENCH"), German
("/lang GERMAN"),
Danish
("/lang DANISH"), and Portuguese
("/lang PORTUGUESE").
Expect lower accuracy and slower reply times due to the need of extra translations by the LLM (typical response times are about 10-30 s).
Finally, Ralkin also allows the following languages with the understanding that it has not been trained on them, and therefore the accuracy will be lower. However, its performance is still acceptable, and surely it will improve over time with the release of better LLM models. The other available languages are:
Catalan ("/lang CATALAN"), Italian
("/lang ITALIAN"), Dutch
("/lang DUTCH"),
Swedish
("/lang SWEDISH"), Norwegian
("/lang NORWEGIAN"),
Finnish
("/lang FINNISH"),
Uckranian
("/lang UCKRAINIAN"), Polish
("/lang POLISH"),
Czech
("/lang CZECH"), Hungarian
("/lang HUNGARIAN"),
Romanian
("/lang ROMANIAN"),
Greek
("/lang GREEK"), Korean
("/lang KOREAN"),
Turkish
("/lang TURKISH"), Arabic
("/lang ARABIC")
and Russian
("/lang RUSSIAN").

This compressor certainly is a workhorse for industrial refrigeration.
Aftermarket spare parts coming soon!
Here we provide a general explanation of Ralkin current capabilities, which can be divided into five different categories.
This last section is the most versatile for the average user trying to find suitable aftermarket spare parts for his/her compressor. The AI relies on the part lists from OEM manufacturers as shown in our Catalogues section. Hence, Ralkin answers depend on the information at its disposal. Many compressor brands are currently missing; of the brands available, many models are missing; and of the models available, many OEM parts are still not matched with a Ralco part number... and thus will not appear in searches.
As we improve our catalogues, Ralkin will improve its capabilities. For this reason, it makes no sense to ask Ralkin about spare parts for Vilter models if no information is available about this compressor brand in the Catalogues section!
